All-New 2022 Toyota Tundra Engine Options near Gonzales, LA
This year, Toyota is not using the V-8 engine in new Tundras. Instead, this truck has an available i-FORCE twin-turbo V-6 engine that provides 389 hp, compared to 381 hp in the previous year’s V-8. This helps improve fuel efficiency, while also providing more towing capability (10,200 lbs in the 2021 model, up to a maximum of 12,000 lbs in 2022).
All-New 2022 Toyota Tundra Frame and Suspension near Prairieville, LA
As mentioned earlier, the All-New 2022 Tundra now shares a common platform with the Land Cruiser, things like the location of the firewall, front and rear axles, track width, etc.—as well as shared components like engines, transmissions, wiring, etc. In addition to this, the rear suspension has been changed from a leaf-spring setup to the more refined coil-spring rear suspension that noticeably improves handling.

Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle’s exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo. [Calculated with the new SAE J2807 method.] See Owner’s Manual for limitations.
